COLLABORATION:

In January, 2009, Adrienne Pierluissi began a series of paintings based on nine photos Ken Vandermark took in Addis.  The challenge was to utilize another's imagery, composition and palette to create a painting that was unique in its essence while maintaining the integrity of the original photo.

Throughout the progress of the work, Ken Vandermark would photograph the paintings in their various stages.  These photos served to inform their further development, thus creating an artistic dialogue between the artists. 

The Addis Experience exhibit consists of the Pierluissi's paintings accompanied by their source photo,  detail photos Vandermark took of her works in progress, and a series of street scene shots from the Addis trip.
